About HurStories
I've always hoped my work would help people laugh more, notice more, and remember their own stories with a little more gratitude, hope, and grace.
Why I Started HurStories
I started HurStories because I realized the moments that shape our lives are rarely the big ones.
They're the missing socks. The bedtime questions. The embarrassing moments we'd rather forget. The long recoveries. The quiet mornings when God gently reminds us He hasn't gone anywhere.
For years, I thought those moments were too ordinary to remember. Now I believe they're the very ones worth preserving.
HurStories is where I share them—with honesty, humor, faith, and the hope that every story reminds another woman she isn't walking through life alone. Because the moments we think are ordinary often become the stories that shape us.
What I Believe
- God is just as present in ordinary Tuesdays as He is in life-changing moments.
- Faith isn't an emergency contact—it's a daily conversation.
- Motherhood doesn't have to be perfect to be beautiful.
- The best stories are usually the ones we almost forget to tell.
- Gratitude changes how we remember our lives.
- Healing takes time—and so does grace.
Maybe You're Like Me...
Maybe you're raising little ones while wondering if you're doing enough.
Maybe life feels messy, overwhelming, or nothing like you imagined.
Maybe you've discovered that faith feels easiest when life is hardest—and you're learning to invite God into the ordinary days too.
Or maybe you simply love stories that make you laugh, think, and leave you feeling a little less alone.
If this is you…
Welcome!
Have a seat. Pour some coffee. Stay awhile.
Behind the Name
Hur is my mother's maiden name.
Growing up, I only knew pieces of her childhood in South Korea. Stories of poverty. Faith. Sacrifice. Perseverance.
Those stories shaped me.
They taught me gratitude before I even realized it.
HurStories is my way of honoring her while making sure my own children will one day know mine.
I want them to know what made me laugh, what tested my faith, what God taught me, and how deeply they were loved.
This isn't just a blog.
It's our family's story.
Meet Naomi
Somewhere between endless piles of laundry, doctor's appointments, raising two strong-willed boys (with a pretty strong-willed husband), and drinking one too many iced coffees, I realized God was showing up in the ordinary moments I'd been rushing past.
So I started writing them down.
HurStories is where I share the funny, messy, heartbreaking, and hope-filled moments that make up a life. Some stories will make you laugh. Some might make you cry.
